Lean on me....

Today, it occurred to me that I began blogging in the midst of a very challenging season in my life.  If there have been multiple blogs keeping with the theme of how to see God’s light in the midst of darkness, it is because I am trying to remind myself.  I am trusting that you are like me, and while our challenges may differ, that we all face an invisible battle to keep our eyes on the Lord and His good rather than the rough waters raging around us.In the midst of the battle, I wanted to share with you that God is faithful.  If you are not feeling His faithfulness right now then you may have to lean on someone who has seen God be faithful. After all, we get ourselves in trouble if we live by our feelings.  They often lead us astray. Lean on me today.  I may need to lean on you tomorrow.God has NOT answered any of my BIGGIE prayer requests this week.  You know what I mean? There are 3 needs that are screaming at us right now, well 4.  God has not given a “Yes” to a single one of them yet, so why the optimism?  Two days ago, I specifically told God that we needed some encouragement and we needed it soon.  What I wanted for encouragement was an answer to those 4 prayers.  I have not received an answer on those yet, but let me tell you what has happened in those 2 days…

  • I drove through a Starbucks really tired and having already overspent our eating out budget.  I didn’t care.  It was Wednesday and it was going to be a long day and I needed some caffeine.  As I arrived at the window, the barista said, “It is on me.  I can’t tell you how much God is using Highpoint to change me life.”  If you are a part of the body of Highpoint… God is using you.
  • I got an email from someone I barely know saying that God had impressed upon her to translate the remaining 8 chapters of Miss Perfect into Spanish after 4 people were saved using a portion of it on a recent mission trip.
  • I entered a meeting where we were led to pray for each other.  The person praying for me spoke life into my weary heart that my labor was not in vein.
  • I received an email from a dear leader and friend saying that she was going to pray for me today.

Just remember, God does not have to say yes to sustain you.  I praise God for the body of Christ.  We need each other to be reminded that God hears and God cares.  Love Worked for me.  I am grateful.
